One of the weirder things about Auckland is that there are volcanoes everywhere. Small volcanoes. In the Pacific Northwest, we're used to volcanoes being 10,000 feet high, but in Auckland they are small city parks, recognizable because their shape and because they are in the middle of fairly flat places. One of these pictures is crooked because I was leaning out a window at a seminary library to take it. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get a level photo. It shows an island which is the newest volcano in the Auckland area.
